Michio Hoshino ½ 9 SUMMARY

By Chronicle Books For his images and his deep commitment to and curiosity about Alaska he is still widly considered the preeminent photographer of the Alaskan wilderness This book is a welcome and long overdue collection of his best photographs as well as a dozen short excerpts from his writing The book is divided. Briefly the photography is beyond breathtaking The only problem is the editing of the book I know a picture is worth a thousand words but a slightly descriptive approach would be endearing to the reader observer after all both processes are reuired to ingest this beautiful work Every so often I return to this book and observe some little item that I overlooked the previous time I think I will continue to do this for years to come
